This little gem was on a McCormick recipe card. I make it every Christmas for my family. It is very easy to make and quick which is essential during the holidays.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Bake time 35-40 minutes
Makes about 12 or more servings depending on your sweet tooth.
Kitchen tools: approximately 9x3inch bundt pan (I use a non stick Wilton bundt pan 9.75 x 3.38inches)
INGREDIENTS:
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 can (21 oz) apple pie filing
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract (make sure it is the real stuff!)
2 can (12oz) refrigerated biscuits ( reduced fat buttermilk can be substituted)
1/2 cup chopped nuts, divided (my family loves chopped walnuts)
*I added the following spices:
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a saucepan, melt butter, stir in brown sugar, apple pie filling, cinnamon, (ginger and nutmeg if added) and vanilla on low heat. Spread half of apple mixture in a 9x3 bundt pan.
2. Separate biscuits; cut each into quarters. Arrange in bundt pan in layers over mixture. Add mixture and half of nuts to layers. Top with remaining mixture and sprinkle the remaining nuts on top.
3. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 to 40 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm. Makes about 12 servings.
This was just what Santa ordered and his elves prepared your recipe while you slept? It was soo delicious!
